Position Overview

HECO is seeking a Final Inspection Technician – Rotating Equipment for our Wheeling, WV location. In this role, you will ensure all repaired electric motors and rotating equipment meet strict quality, safety, and performance standards before release. Your work directly supports HECO’s reputation for reliability and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect electric motor components and assemblies for defects, abnormalities, or deviations from specifications
  • Perform precise final measurements and document all results
  • Review teardown and rebuild documentation for accuracy
  • Prepare inspection reports and assist with quoting as needed
  • Ensure all repairs, tolerances, and fits meet HECO quality standards
  • Collaborate with production, machining, winding, and repair teams to resolve discrepancies
  • Confirm equipment passes all required tests prior to release
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
  • Follow inspection priorities set by the Production Manager

Qualifications & Competencies

  • 3–5 years of experience with rotating equipment, motor repair, or mechanical inspection
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications
  • Experience documenting inspection findings and failure modes accurately
  • Basic understanding of manual lathes and milling machines for measurement verification
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Excellent communication skills and collaboration across departments
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Growth-oriented mindset and willingness to learn
