We are currently Staffing for CDL-A Drivers in the area to join Ryder's team supporting the Ross account during peak season - now through early January!
- We’re hiring dependable Class A CDL Drivers for heavy-touch freight positions with excellent pay, consistent hours, and the opportunity for temp-to-perm placement based on performance.
Pay & Locations
- Smyrna, TN: $28.50/hr + OT after 40 hours
- Hours: 55+ hours per week
- Per Diem: $30 per night (1–2 nights per week)
- Paid Training Provided
Schedule
- Monday – Friday (Saturdays as needed by customer)
- Dispatch between 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
- Expect 11+ hour days
Position Details
- Freight Type: Touch freight (Clothing & Home Goods)
- Equipment: 53’ Dry Van
- Duties: Move boxes (up to 50 lbs) from trailer to conveyor belt at store locations
- Boxes are stacked up to 6 high — step stool provided
- Ryder provides all necessary equipment and training
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- Experience:
- 9 months in the last 36 months OR 24 months in the last 60 months with CDL-A equipment (verified)
- Driving Record:
- No more than 2 combined minor traffic violations/accidents in the last 24 months
- FMCSA Clearinghouse: Clean D&A record required
- Criminal Background: Case-by-case consideration (cleaner is better)
Assignment Duration
- Runs through New Year’s (Peak Season)
- Temp-to-Hire & Surge roles available
- Ryder may hire qualified drivers after 90 days or equivalent hours
